| i think it is a little boring on the TV. When you are at the racetrack it is fun. Also i watched the Kuntucky Durby and the horse that had to be put down broke to of its legs on the track after the race that happend when he stopped. Also he came in second place he was black and the name is eight bells. |

| -_- Okay, I'm an experienced horse person, so I'm sure I know more about this then any of you. I currently own 3 horses, and my family has owned several race horses. There's nothing wrong with it. Thoroughbreds are powerhouses on legs, they absolutely love to gallop. If a horse is not fit to race, it's sold as an OTTB, where they are re-trained as Dressage, Hunter/Jumper, Cross Country, etc. horses. Plus, they go through a lot of training; both the horse and rider. They don't just get on the horse and race it. Riding a horse without tack? That is possible, but that takes many years of natural horsemanship training to train a horse to ride without tack. Tack is not painful to a horse, in anyway. You buy a saddle, bridle/headstall, etc. that correctly fits the horse. |
